The Bitcoin Diploma is a pioneering education initiative launched in 2021 the Bitcoin Office. By now, thousands of Salvadoran public school students have graduated with world-class financial literacy levels. And in 2026, the Bitcoin Diploma takes another giant step forward.

The newly revamped program, designed and created in partnership with the Bitcoin education and innovation agency WeSpark, is “the newest modern finance and Bitcoin curricula,” according to WeSpark CEO Nelson Inno: “It will be taught to every single Salvadoran teenager.”

The Bitcoin Diploma 2.0 is a state-of-the-art education curriculum, specifically designed within the Salvadoran cultural and economic context. It is built around a newly designed workbook and accompanied by digital tools and gamified exercises.

All these tools help increase student engagement in this best-in-class Bitcoin and financial education program. In Nelson’s words: “This is not a buy-Bitcoin-course. It is an understand-money-and-Bitcoin-course. The main goal in the design is to truly allow Salvadoran teenagers to have that chance of being critical thinkers in the world, to have the chance of finding their path to truth. We do this not by telling them Bitcoin is the best money, but by giving them all the financial facts, everything that’s going on, so they can come to the same conclusion we found.”
The Bitcoin Diploma adds a new layer atop the financial education children in El Salvador’s public schools receive through the What is Money? financial literacy course.

The combination of these two courses means that Salvadoran public school students will now graduate school with a financial education unmatched at this level in any other country.
These courses not only empower students personally and financially but also provide them with an understanding of emerging financial technologies and an introduction to entrepreneurship, encouraging local innovation and economic participation in the process.
All of this helps El Salvador on its path to cultivating a generation of Bitcoin-literate citizens and entrepreneurs who build high-level business services and technologies and participate in the new digital economy, which is rapidly growing in El Salvador.
